Sprinter scores a record-breaking number one, Dave and Central Cee

Dave and Cee in the center

With their brand-new song, Sprinter, Dave and Central Cee have topped the UK charts, breaking a streaming record in the process.

Last week, the collaborative song received 13.4 million streams, which is the most ever for a rap song.

Since Adele's Easy On Me was streamed 24 million times in 2021, this is also the most first week streams ever.

The duo's hit song is a witty, savvy song that indulges in rap clichés while recognizing their absurdity.

It is taken from a surprise EP titled Split Decision, on which the two longtime friends collaborated for the first time since 2016, when they traded verses on a remix of AJ Tracey's Spirit Bomb.

This week's top 20 also included two more songs from the EP, UK Rap at number 17 and Trojan Horse at number 14.

The pop icons Kylie Minogue and Madonna, meanwhile, each have their biggest hit songs in years on this week's chart.

Padam Padam, Kylie's hypnotic new single, moves up to number 12 thanks in large part to fans purchasing a limited-edition CD single from her official website.

After 2014's Into The Blue, which also peaked at number 12, the song subsequently becomes the artist's highest-charting hit.

Kylie Minogue
The UK top 40 hit Padam Padam is Kylie Minogue's 52nd.

A song called Popular, a collaboration between The Weeknd and Playboi Carti, marks Madonna's comeback.

The song, which comes from the HBO drama series Idol, debuts at number 21, giving the Queen of Pop her highest chart position since 2009's Celebration, when it peaked at number three.

Next week, when the Sam Smith duet Vulgar is released, Madonna is expected to score another new hit.

The singers respond to those who have criticized their sexually provocative lyrics and attire in the song, which is cheekily credited to "Sandamp;M.".

In 1994, Dave Grohl (center) founded the Foo Fighters, which have since become one of the biggest rock bands in the world.

With But Here We Are, Foo Fighters achieve their sixth number one album position on the charts.

The group is coming to terms with their grief and desolation on their first album since the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.

In the past seven days, the song sold 44,500 chart units, barely surpassing Noel Gallagher's Council Skies.

His album debuts at number two, breaking a 29-year run of number-one albums that included 10 albums as a member of both Oasis and his most recent venture, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

Council Skies was the week's top seller in independent record stores in the UK, and it debuted at the top of the vinyl albums chart.
