A minister has stated that Wales will not outlaw fake grass, just days after saying she was considering the idea.
Minister for Climate Change Julie James stated on Wednesday that she wanted to see if a new law banning some single-use plastics could be applied to this.
A business owner who claimed that a ban would endanger her livelihood reacted negatively to her comments.
"I don't have the authority to outlaw artificial grass starting tomorrow. I wouldn't, even if I did," she added.
She claimed that instead, she wanted to assist people in comprehending how using it in their gardens would affect the environment. Politics Wales quoted her as saying, "I think we can help people understand how you can have an environmentally friendly bio diverse small space that is very low.
And to help people understand, we'll, as we always do, set out on a journey with the Welsh public. ".
A possible ban on the synthetic material, according to businesswoman Carol Hustwitt, would be "very extreme." Hustwitt sells artificial grass on the island of Anglesey.
She declared, "I would have no business if that were to come into play.".
