After a massive community rescue effort, two dolphins that beached at Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire have been rescued and returned to the sea.
Dozens of volunteers arrived at the scene as the drama unfolded early on Monday morning.
Rescue teams were able to carefully reintroduce the mammals into the water after maintaining their moisture.
One of the organizations informed of the incident was British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR).
Liz Buchan, an onlooker, observed the rescue procedure.
According to her, the white-beaked dolphins were a mother and her young pup.
According to her statement to BBC Scotland, "I saw it on Facebook so I grabbed my camera and came down here to the beach.".
"The fire department and beach rescue were here, and they helped the dolphins get into the water.
In order to see the dolphins, the beach was crowded with children. A happy ending did occur for them.
