A site for conservation and rewilding has approved plans to build visitor amenities.

A café, a shop, and an indoor play area will be built at Wild Ken Hill, a former BBC Springwatch host location.

Although the decision was delayed until April, the West Norfolk Council's planning committee unanimously approved the plans despite traffic concerns.

The work being done by the site is of "national importance," according to councilor Simon Ring of the independent group.

The plans call for Wild Ken Hill to construct a new 10-yurt glamping pitch and convert existing farm buildings.

Director of Norfolk Lavender Henry Head opposed the plan, claiming it might "significantly increase danger" from cars turning right at Lamsey Lane's intersection with the A149.

He requested the planning committee to hold off until Norfolk County Council had made a decision regarding the junction's improvements.

The application shouldn't be postponed any longer, according to councilman from the independent group Simon Ring.

He said, "The work that Wild Ken Hill is doing is of national importance and we can't keep delaying the matter because we're waiting for Norfolk County Council to come up with the funds to build a long-needed safety junction.
