At the age of 47, self-help author and former Disney distribution chief Dave Hollis passed away.
Bestselling author Rachel Hollis, Hollis' ex-wife, said the family was "devastated" in a statement.
She said, "I don't know what to say; my heart is too broken to find words.".
A family spokesperson told US media outlets that Hollis had recently been hospitalized for "heart issues," but the exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
At his home outside of Austin, Texas, he passed away peacefully on Saturday night.
As we attempt to deal with the unthinkable, his ex-wife Rachel Hollis asked for prayers for the children.
Before leaving Disney in 2018 to support his ex-wife's career, Hollis spent 17 years there, including seven years as the company's head of distribution.
In addition to overseeing the relaunch of the Star Wars franchise and blockbusters like Frozen and Black Panther, Hollis worked for Disney during this time.
He told the Associated Press that he felt like his new work with his wife was his "calling" and that he had hit a corporate wall.
In addition to being a motivational speaker and the author of the bestseller Girl, Wash Your Face, Rachel Hollis, who has four kids with Dave, also owns a multimedia company called the Hollis Company.
She has faced criticism in the past for her comments, including labeling American abolitionist Harriet Tubman as "unrelatable".
The couple collaborated on livestreams, conferences, and podcasts, including Rise Together, which was about their union. In 2020, the couple filed for divorce.
Three books were also written by Dave Hollis, one of which was a self-help book titled Get Out of Your Own Way.
